Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Removal
1996 Mercury Sable LS, 4D Sedan, 3.0 SSECTION Removal
- Passenger-side air bag module is located above glove box. Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONSΒ . Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEMΒ . Remove left and right finish panels. Remove instrument panel finishing panel clips.
- Open glove box. Press glove box sides inward. Lower glove box to floor. Working through glove box opening, remove lower air bag module retaining screws. See Fig 1 . Remove remaining bolts from side of air bag module cover. Disconnect connector from left side of air bag module. Remove air bag module.
