Power Door Lock Switch

1996 Mercury Sable GS, 4D Wagon, AX4NSECTION Power Door Lock Switch
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove switch. See DOOR LOCK SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. With switch in neutral position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 3, and between terminals No. 5 and 7. See Fig 1 . Continuity should not exist between terminal No. 6 and any other terminal.
  3. Press and hold switch in lock position. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 2 and 3, and between terminals No. 5 and 6. Continuity should not exist between terminal No. 7 and any other terminal.
  4. Press and hold switch in unlock position. Continuity should exist between terminals No. 3 and 6, and between terminals No. 5 and 7. Continuity should not exist between terminal No. 2 and any other terminal. Replace switch if continuity is not as specified.
