3-4 Clutch: Disassembly

Remove 3-4 pressure plate snap ring. Remove pressure plate, steel clutch discs and friction discs. See Figure . Using appropriate press, compress spring retainer and return snap ring. Remove compressor, spring retainer, return spring and 3-4 clutch piston from clutch hub. Inspect condition of clutch discs. Measure thickness of friction discs. Thickness should be .063" (1.6 mm). Wear limit is .055" (1.4 mm). Replace discs in sets, as needed.
