Master Switch (Mustang, Tempo & Topaz)

1993 Mercury Sable GS, 4D Sedan, 3.0 U, AXODESECTION Master Switch (Mustang, Tempo & Topaz)
  1. Remove switch from vehicle and test with a self-powered test light or ohmmeter. With switch in NEUTRAL position, continuity should be present between terminals No. 1 through 9, and terminals No. 10 and 11. See Fig 1 .
  2. With all switches pushed upward (closed position), continuity should be present between terminals No. 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 11, and terminals No. 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9. With all switches pushed downward (open position), there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 and terminals No. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11.
  3. With lock-out depressed, there should be no continuity between terminal No. 11 and any other terminal. If switch fails any of these tests, replace master switch.
