- Remove switch from vehicle and test with a self-powered test light or ohmmeter. With switch in NEUTRAL position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 3 and 6, and No. 4 and 7. See Fig 1 .
- Press raised portion of switch (closed position). There should be continuity between terminals No. 4 and 5, and No. 3 and 6.
- Press depressed portion of switch (open position). There should be continuity between terminals No. 5 and 6, and No. 4 and 7. If switch fails any of these tests, replace switch.
