Low Fuel Indicator

- When ignition is turned on, tank indicator should come on if fuel level is below 1/4 of a tank. Otherwise it should go off. If operation is faulty, perform the following test at low fuel wiring connector, with ignition on.
- Connect a test light to terminal No. 2 and ground, then terminal No. 3 and ground. Terminal No. 1 is blank. Light will blink on in both cases but should be brighter at terminal No. 3.
- Connect test light between 12-volt source and terminal No. 4. Test light should be on. Connect test light between terminal No. 5 and ground. Light will be on. Connect jumper between 12-volt source and terminal No. 6. Fuel indicator should light.
- If any test fails, check for bad wiring, blown fuse or defective bulb. If all terminals test properly, check gauge and IVR. If both are good, replace low fuel indicator switch/sensor.
