Inertia Switch
Inertia switch contacts will open to shut off fuel pump after collision impact. Fuel pump shuts off even if engine runs until fuel in system is depleted. Engine cannot be started unless inertia switch is manually reset. Inertia switch is be- behind access door in right rear cargo area of Sable and Taurus station wagons. Switch is on left side of trunk in all other models. Depress button to reset inertia switch. See Fig 1 .

When to See a Mechanic
