1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove upper column shroud.
3. Disconnect ignition switch electrical connector.
4. With a {1-8} inch twist drill, drill out the switch retaining bolt heads, then remove the bolts with a ``Easy Out'' or equivalent.
5. Disengage ignition switch from actuator and remove from vehicle, Fig. 1.
6. Adjust ignition switch to ``Run'' position. Insert a .050 inch drill or equivalent through the switch housing and into the carrier to prevent movement. A replacement ignition switch includes an installed adjusting pin.
7. Place lock cylinder in the ``Run'' position, which is approximately 90° from the ``Lock'' position.
8. Install ignition switch on actuator pin.
9. Install switch break-off head mounting bolts and tighten until the bolt heads shear.
10. Remove adjusting pin or drill.
11. Connect ignition switch electrical connector.
12. Connect battery ground cable and check for proper operation.
13. Install column shroud.
