Test 7 FBCA Motor Harness Check

1982 Mercury Colony Park V8-302 5.0L VIN F 2-bblSECTION Test 7 FBCA Motor Harness Check

Fig.8 - MCU System Wiring Circuit:

1. With key off, disconnect vehicle harness from MCU and stepper motor.

2. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity of circuits 687, 95, 96, 97 and 98, Fig. 8 of vehicle harness. If resistance is 10 ohms or less for each circuit, proceed to next step. If resistance is greater than 10 ohms in any one of the circuits, repair affected circuits.

3. Connect one lead of an ohmmeter to engine block ground, then with other lead of ohmmeter, probe circuits 95, 96, 97, and 98 of the harness connector, Fig. 8 checking for a short to ground. If resistance is 1000 ohms or more, proceed to test 8. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair affected circuit(s).
