Function
Recording of control signals
The touch-sensitive surface allows the touchpad to detect the position of the finger on the touchpad as well as a press on the touchpad using the capacitive multi-touch sensor system.
The touchpad sends the detected finger coordinates and the detected pressure entries to the multimedia system control system. This then uses any swipe coordinates with one or more fingers as a basis to convert them into control signals.
The sensitivity setting of the detection takes place through the multimedia system.
In addition to the touch-sensitive surface of the touchpad, further controls are integrated into the lower control panel for the following elements, among others:
- Volume adjustment
- Direct call up the navigation, radio, media, telephone and vehicle functions menu in the multimedia system
- Calling up favorites in the multimedia system
- Transmission mode adjustment
- Activation/deactivation of the parking systems
- User identification using fingerprint sensor (vehicles with code 321 (Biometric user identification - fingerprint))
Haptic operating feedback
Vibrations are used by the touchpad as an option to issue haptic feedback as confirmation. The ON/OFF switch function takes place through the multimedia system.
Acoustic operation feedback
The instrument cluster speaker is used by the touchpad as an option to issue acoustic feedback as confirmation. The ON/OFF switch function takes place through the multimedia system.

- Touchpad/lower control panel as a complete component part
