Overview
This document contains information on:
- General
- Function
General
The head-up display projects driving-relevant information (e.g. speed and navigation information) onto the windshield and into the field of view of the driver.
The head-up display only shows information that is also shown on the instrument cluster display. The displaying of this information means that the driver does not have to avert his eyes from driving activities.
Depending on the equipment installed, an MBUX augmented reality Head-up Display is installed that directly overlays the contents shown (e.g. arrows, tracking carpet) onto reality.
The head-up display is located on the driver's side under the instrument panel.
Function
The head-up display receives the picture information processed by the instrument cluster control unit via the high speed video link (HSVL) interface.
The height and the brightness of the projection on the windshield can be adjusted. The displayed contents can be configured individually.
Vehicles with a memory function: The personal settings can be retrieved via the memory function.
