1 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out variant coding from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) IMPORTANT Only when replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer stored data to the new ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).

2 Switch off ignition    
3 Remove engine cover (3)    
4 Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) with ball bearing support (4) upwards out of the mount on intake manifold    
5 Detach plugs (2a, 2b) and unplug from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10)    
6 Remove ball-type support braces (4) from ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) IMPORTANT Only when replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION

7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Carry out sensor adaptation using STAR DIAGNOSIS IMPORTANT Only when replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).

9 Unfasten transport protection on ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) IMPORTANT Only when replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).  
10 Personalize and activate ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) IMPORTANT Only when replacing the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).  
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
