	Remove/install
1.1	Actuate KEYLESS GO start/stop button and switch off ignition	Engine 157, 276, 278 in model 231 with code 889 (KEYLESS-GO)
1.2	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key	Engine 157, 276, 278 in model 231 except code 889 (KEYLESS-GO)
2	Lift vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-1000TX
3	Remove lower engine compartment paneling	Only install lower engine compartment paneling after the performing an engine test run and leak test.	AR61.20-P-1105RK
4	Remove crossmember (1)	For removal of the front components of the exhaust system. Rear crossmember to body	*BA61.10-P-1001-01H
5	Disconnect left oxygen sensor electrical connection upstream of CAT (G3/3), right oxygen sensor electrical connection upstream of CAT (G3/4), left oxygen sensor electrical connection downstream of CAT (G3/5) and right oxygen sensor electrical connection downstream of CAT (G3/6) and expose feed lines	Engine 276 in model 231	AR07.52-P-5303RKA
		Engine 157, 278 in model 231	AR07.52-P-5303RKB
6	Disconnect electrical connection for left NOx sensor (N37/1b1) or right NOx sensor (N37/2b2) and expose feed lines	Engine 276 in model 231 with code 920 (Direct petrol injection with stratified charging)	AR07.70-P-0001RKA
7	Disconnect electrical connection for temperature sensor upstream of right NOx storage catalytic converter (B16) or temperature sensor upstream of left NOx storage catalytic converter (B16/1) of the respective NOx storage catalytic converter (4) and expose feed lines	Engine 276 in model 231 with code 920 (Direct petrol injection with stratified charging)	AR07.70-P-0002RKA
8	Remove corresponding components of exhaust system at connecting points and remove	Apply lubricating paste to exhaust rubber mounts (2). Align components for the exhaust system before firmly tightening screw connections free of tension.

	Clean
9	Remove combustion and corrosion residue at separating points
	Check
10	Check rubber mount (2) for signs of wear and damage, replace if necessary
11	Install in the reverse order
	Check
12	Check installation position and unobstructed movement of all components of the exhaust system
13	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Perform an engine test run and check exhaust system for leaktightness	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
