1 Detach front wheel and tire assembly

2.2 Release pressure in ABC system using diagnostic system Model 231.### ## as of 021274

3 Remove middle and rear engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105RK
4 Unscrew nut (9) and remove torsion bar linkage (7) from torsion bar pivot bushing (8) Model 231

TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, torsion bar linkage to spring control arm
*BA32.20-P-1001-02H 
5 Unscrew nut (1) and pull bolt (5) out of spring control arm (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, suspension strut for front axle to spring control arm *BA32.25-P-1002-04N 
6 Unscrew nut (12) and detach spring control arm (2) from steering knuckle (10) NOTES
The ball head must be counterheld and an impact wrench/driver must not be used.
Otherwise, the ball head or steering knuckle (10) may be damaged.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, spring control arm to steering knuckle

7 Unscrew nut (3) and pull bolt (11) out of front axle carrier (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, spring control arm to front axle carrier *BA33.20-P-1002-01S 
8 Remove spring control arm (2) downwards    
INSPECT Check     
9 Check elastomer bearing in spring control arm (2) for damage and replace if necessary.   AR33.15-P-0170-02RK
    SPECIAL TOOL Press-in tool Fig 3

10 Check seal bellows and ball joint in spring control arm (2) for damage and replace if necessary    
11 Check torsion bar pivot bushing (8) in spring control arm (2) and replace if necessary Model 231
