Map-supported position finding is only available in the digitized area of the Digital Versatile Disk (DVD) map By comparing the calculated position of the vehicle with the DVD map, the deviation can be detected and automatically corrected.
The position of the vehicle is followed continuously on the DVD map by the navigation processor of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). In the event of deviations from the calculated route during a journey, the basic position finding position coordinates will be corrected if necessary.
