MB information call
The "MB Info" service allows the customer to get in contact with a DaimlerChrysler Information Center. This information service can provide users with updated information (such as on current traffic conditions and possible detours) or DC-specific additional information. This service is primarily an oral information service that is provided via the communications module in the emergency call system control unit (N123/4). The user activates this service by pressing the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6). If the service is authorized and no higher-priority service is active, the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) transmits an SMS to the service center.
The SMS contains the following data:
- Vehicle position
- Customer identification data
- Vehicle identification data
In addition to the SMS transmission, a voice connection is immediately established to the service center, and the user can discuss the matter with a customer service representative. If the service center is unable to establish a connection to the vehicle, the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) then attempts to establish a connection from the vehicle to the service center. The information service is a free service provided by Mercedes-Benz Customer Service.
