Knock Sensor (KS) Removal/Installation

2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata Grand Touring, Automatic TransSECTION Knock Sensor (KS) Removal/Installation
  1. Remove the battery cover.
  2. Remove the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF] ).
  3. Remove the dynamic chamber. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  4. Disconnect the KS connector.
  5. Remove the KS installation bolt, then remove the KS.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

    KS tightening torque 

    16-24 N.m {1.7-2.4 kgf.m, 12-17 ft.lbf}
