- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5] .) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.3 DISI TURBO] .) (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0] .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Upper Panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift knob (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G35M-R] .)(See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G66M-R] .)(See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [A26M-R] .)(See MANUAL TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R] .)
- Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Console (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove clips A and B.
- Remove the clip C.
- Remove the pad.
- While pressing the clip tabs in the direction of the arrow (1) shown in the figure, press the clip in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the tab of clip D from the console.
- Remove the clip D.
- Move the car-navigation unit assembly in the direction of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and remove the hook.
- Remove the car-navigation unit assembly.
- Remove the wiring harness from the bracket hook.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Pull the wiring harness from the console.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the car-navigation unit from the bracket.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
