Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Inspection

2011 Mazda CX-7 i Sport, 2.5 5SECTION Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Inspection
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
  3. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
  4. Remove the ECT sensor. (See ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Place the ECT sensor in water with a thermometer, and heat the water gradually.
  6. Measure the resistance between the ECT sensor terminals A and B using an ohmmeter.
