Neutral Switch Removal/Installation
2011 Mazda 3 Mazdaspeed, 2.3 3SECTION Neutral Switch Removal/Installation

- Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5] ).
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the battery component, (ex: battery, battery tray and PCM component). (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5] ).
- Remove the aerodynamic under cover No. 2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Drain the oil from the transaxle. (See TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT ).
- Disconnect the neutral switch connector and remove the neutral switch.
- Install the neutral switch (with a new gasket) to the transaxle case.
Tightening torque
20-29 N.m {2.1-2.9 kgf.m, 15-21 ft.lbf}
- Install the battery component, (ex: battery, battery tray and PCM component). (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5] ).
- Install the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [LF, L5] ).
- Add the specified amount and type of oil. (See TRANSAXLE OIL REPLACEMENT ).
- Install the aerodynamic under cover No. 2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
