Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Removal/Installation

2011 Mazda 3 Mazdaspeed, 2.3 3SECTION Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Removal/Installation

  1. Drain the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
  2. Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
    WARNING:
    • When the engine is hot, it can badly burn. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the ECT sensor.
  3. Remove the ECT sensor.
  4. Replace the gasket.
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  6. Refill the engine coolant. (See COOLING SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .) (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT .)
