Generator No Load Test
2011 Mazda 3 Mazdaspeed, 2.3 3SECTION Generator No Load Test

- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Switch DVOM to voltmeter function. On pickups, connect positive lead to generator connector A-172 (Black/Orange wire). On Tribute, connect positive lead to generator connector X-102b/c (Yellow/White wire). On all models, connect negative lead to ground.
- Start engine, turn all electrical accessories off. With engine running at 2000 RPM, monitor generator voltage output. If voltage output is 13-15 volts, generator is operating normally. If output is not 13-15 volts, investigate concern. See SYMPTOM INDEX (B-SERIES PICKUP) or SYMPTOM INDEX (TRIBUTE) under SYSTEM TESTS.
