System Check
Start engine, and let idle. IMRC actuator should not operate at engine speeds of less than 3300 RPM. Raise engine speed. IMRC actuator should operate at engine speeds of more than 3300 RPM. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC P1512, P1518 or P1520 are present, see appropriate test in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - MPV. If DTCs are not present, start engine. Using scan tool, select SIMULATION TEST. Turn IMRC actuator on and off. If IMRC actuator operation is heard, check IMRC actuator cable tension and condition. Repair as necessary. If IMRC actuator operation is not heard, check Green/White wire between main relay and IMRC actuator terminal No. 2. Check Black/White wire between IMRC actuator terminal No. 3 and ground. Check wire between IMRC actuator terminal No. 1 (Black/Red wire) and PCM terminal No. 42 (Black/Yellow wire). Repair as necessary. If problem is not present, replace IMRC actuator.
