Mode 3 - HO2S Heater, HO2S & TWC Repair Verification Drive Mode

2010 Mazda 5 Sport, 2.3 L, StandardSECTION Mode 3 - HO2S Heater, HO2S & TWC Repair Verification Drive Mode
  1. Access to RFCFLAG PID to confirm PCM adaptive memory status.
  2. Verify all accessory loads (A/C, headlights, blower fan, rear window defroster) are off.
  3. Start engine and let idle it for more than 5 minutes.
  4. Drive vehicle under one of following conditions:
    • Vehicle speed is more than 55 MPH for one minute (MTX: 5th gear/ATX: D range).
    • Vehicle speed is more than 50 MPH for one minute (MTX: 4th gear/ATX: D range).
  5. Continue to drive vehicle while maintaining speed between 45-55 MPH for 3 minutes (MTX: 5th gear ATX: D range).
  6. Stop vehicle and access ON BOARD SYSTEM READINESS to inspect Drive Mode completion status.
    • If completed, RFC flag changes from NO to YES.
    • If not completed, turn ignition off. Go back to stepΒ 3.
  7. Access DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS to inspect monitor results. If MEAS are within specification, repair is completed. If MEAS are not within specification, repair is not completed.
  8. Verify no DTCs are available.
