Mode 4 (EVAP Verification)

NOTE: If Mode 4 cannot be performed, perform EVAP SYSTEM TEST. See appropriate SYSTEM & COMPONENT TESTING article.

Connect scan tool. Ensure BARO is 21.3 in. Hg. or more, IAT PID is 14-131Β°F (-10-55Β°C) and FTL V PID is 1.1-3.0 volts. Ensure ECT PID is 14-72Β°F (-10-22Β°C) Turn all accessories off. Start engine. Raise engine speed to 3500 RPM for 200 seconds to warm engine. Release throttle and allow to idle. Drive vehicle immediately. Accelerate from idle to 40-60 MPH within 20 seconds. Ensure 40-60 MPH is reached within 4 minutes of initial start. Drive vehicle steadily at 40-60 MPH for at least 2 minutes. Stop vehicle and allow to idle. Using scan tool, check drive mode completion status. If test is not complete, turn ignition off and repeat test. If test is complete, check test results. If results are okay, ensure no DTCs are present. If results are not okay, repairs are not complete.
