Rear Window Glass Removal

2010 Mazda 5 Sport, 2.3 L, StandardSECTION Rear Window Glass Removal

  1. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3] .)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the rear wiper arm and blade. (See REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the liftgate trim. (See LIFTGATE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the rear wiper motor. (See REAR WIPER MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove the high-mount brake light. (See HIGH-MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  7. Disconnect the filament connector.
  8. Apply protective tape along the edge of the body.
    NOTE:
    • Overlap and adhere the protective tape to the corners to prevent damage.

  9. Insert the piano wire, which has been cut to sufficient length from inside the vehicle.
    WARNING:
    • Using the piano wire with bare hands can cause injury. Always wear gloves when using the piano wire.
