Clock Spring Removal/Installation: Notes
2010 Mazda 5 Sport, 2.3 L, StandardSECTION Notes

- Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3] .)
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more.Β
- Remove the following parts:
- Driver-side air bag module (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATIONΒ .)
- Steering wheel (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Meter hood (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
- Verify that the air bag system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 sΒ
and then goes out.
- If the air bag system warning light does not operate normally, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and inspect the system.
