Front Buckle Removal/Installation

2010 Mazda 5 Sport, 2.3 L, StandardSECTION Front Buckle Removal/Installation

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3] .)
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Detach the tab as shown in the figure and remove the connector from the front seat connector.

  6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  8. Verify that the air bag system warning light illuminates for approx. 6 sΒ  and then goes out when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.
    • If the air bag system warning light does not operate, refer to the on-board diagnostic system (air bag system) and perform inspection of the system.
