Headliner Removal/Installation

2010 Mazda 5 Sport, 2.3 L, StandardSECTION Headliner Removal/Installation

  1. Remove the battery cover. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3] .)
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Partially peel back the seaming welt.
  4. Remove the following parts:
    1. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Front scuff plate inner (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. B-pillar lower trim (See B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Front seat belt upper anchor installation bolt (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. B-pillar upper trim (See B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Rear package tray lid (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY LID REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Sub-trunk
    9. Third-row seat (See THIRD-ROW SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Rear header trim (See REAR HEADER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Third-row seat belt lower anchor installation bolt (See THIRD-ROW SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    13. Cargo compartment light (See CARGO COMPARTMENT LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    14. Trunk side trim (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    15. Second-row seat belt upper anchor installation bolt (See SECOND-ROW SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    16. C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    17. Map light (See MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    18. Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    19. Sunvisor (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Disconnect the roof wiring harness connector and detach the roof wiring harness connector clip from the body.
  6. Disconnect the rear washer hose.
  7. Disconnect the antenna feeder.
  8. Remove the seaming welt, (vehicles with sunroof)
  9. Remove the fasteners.
  10. Take the headliner out from the opened liftgate.
  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
