SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING - NO. 24 A/C IS ALWAYS ON OR A/C COMPRESSOR RUNS CONTINUOUSLY [L3]

24 A/C IS ALWAYS ON OR A/C COMPRESSOR RUNS CONTINUOUSLY
DESCRIPTION  A/C compressor magnetic clutch does not disengage.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • PCM or instrument cluster display DTC is stored
  • Climate control unit or information display DTC is stored (Full-auto air conditioner)
  • BCM DTC is stored (Manual air conditioner)
  • Short to power supply in wiring harness between A/C relay and magnetic clutch
  • A/C compressor magnetic clutch engagement is stuck.
  • A/C relay is stuck closed.
  • Short to GND in wiring harness between A/C switch and PCM
  • Short to GND in wiring harness between climate control unit terminal E and BCM terminal 3S (Manual air conditioner)
  • Climate control unit malfunction
