DTC P0441 [L3] DETECTION CONDITIONS AND POSSIBLE CAUSES

DTC P0441 Evaporative emission control system incorrect purge flow
DETECTION CONDITION 
  • PCM measures the purge line pressure, which is the vacuum when a following condition. If vacuum between charcoal canister and intake manifold does not reach the specified, PCM determines that the EVAP system has clogging.

    MONITORING CONDITION 

    • Engine speed: 1,500-3,650 rpm (MTX), 1,220-3,800 rpm (ATX) 
    • Throttle opening angle: 19% (At engine speed is 2500 rpm) 
    • Vehicle speed: 70-136 km/h {44.0-84.5 mph} (MTX)/35-136 km/h {22.0-84.5 mph} (ATX) 
    • Fuel level: 15-85% 

Diagnostic support note 
  • This is an intermittent monitor (Evaporative emission system).
  • MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
  • PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during the first drive cycle.
  • FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2/Mode 12) is available.
  • DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
  • DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULT is available.
POSSIBLE CAUSE 
  • Purge solenoid valve malfunction
  • Blockage in EVAP system
  • Charcoal canister malfunction
  • Catch tank malfunction
  • EVAP hose damaged or loose
  • EVAP pipe damaged
  • Evaporative emission system leak detection pump malfunction
  • Fuel pump unit poor seal
  • Leakage in EVAP system
  • PCM malfunction
