GENERATOR REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 4.0L









Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect the battery. See Procedures.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. See - Service and Repair.

3. Rotate the front end accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise and position the accessory drive belt aside.

4. Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the generator.

5. Position the protective cover aside, remove the nut and position the generator B+ terminal aside.Tightening Torque8 Nm {0.8 kgf-m, 71 in-lbf}

6. Remove the 2 bolts from the generator.Tightening Torque47 Nm {4.8 kgf-m 35 ft-lbf}

7. Remove the stud bolt, position the generator harness bracket aside and remove the generator.Tightening Torque47 Nm {4.8 kgf-m 35 ft-lbf}

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
