2008 Mazda Tribute s Sport, 4WDSECTION Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
  • Do not remove the ignition lock cylinder and the ignition switch at the same time or damage to the column can result.
  1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). See SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
  2. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover.
  3. Remove the 3 lower steering column cover mounting screws.
  4. Remove the lower steering column cover.
  5. Remove the upper steering column cover.

  6. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
    NOTE:
    • Lower the steering column to the lowest tilt position.
  7. Remove the ignition switch by pressing the 2 tabs and pulling the ignition switch outward.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
