Accelerator Cable Adjustment

2008 Mazda Tribute s Sport, 4WDSECTION Accelerator Cable Adjustment

  1. Move the white locking tab A to the unlock position.

  2. NOTE:
    • If stopper B will not unlock, it may be necessary to carefully bend tab C out using a suitable tool.
  3. Turn stopper B to the unlock position.
  4. To adjust the free play, push or pull the throttle cable housing directly behind the spring.
  5. Measure the throttle cable free play, making sure that it is within the specification.

    1. 1.5-4.0 mm {0.06-0.15 in}Β 

  6. Turn stopper B to lock position.
  7. Move the white locking tab A to the lock position.
  8. Verify correct accelerator operation.
