DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE CHART (PINPOINT TEST 8)

PINPOINT TEST 8 THE DELAYED ACCESSORY DOES NOT TURN OFF
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK FOR STUCK/STICKING ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
  • Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
  • Are any delayed accessory features still operative?Β 
Yes GO to step 3.
No GO to the next step.
2 CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
Yes GO to step 4.
No INSTALL a new accessory delay relay. RUN the on-demand self-test (required to clear the DTCs). CORRECT any unresolved DTCs. CLEAR all DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
3 CHECK CIRCUIT (G/L) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
  • Key in OFF position.
  • Disconnect: SJB J-2280d.
  • Key in ON position.
  • Measure the voltage between the SJB J-2280d pin 32, circuit (G/L), harness side and ground.
  • Is any voltage present?Β 
Yes REPAIR the circuit. RUN the on-demand self-test (required to clear the DTCs). CORRECT any unresolved DTCs. CLEAR all DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
No GO to the next step.
4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
  • Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
  • Check for:
    • corrosion
    • damaged pins
    • pushed-out pins
  • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
  • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
  • Is the concern still present?Β 
Yes INSTALL a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . TEST the system for normal operation.
No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. RUN the on-demand self-test (required to clear the DTCs). CORRECT any unresolved DTCs. CLEAR all DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
