Liftgate Latch Removal/Installation

2008 Mazda Tribute s Sport, 4WDSECTION Liftgate Latch Removal/Installation

Remove the liftgate trim panel. See LIFTGATE TRIM PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
Remove and discard the 3 liftgate latch bolts.
- To install, tighten to 12 N.m {1.2 kgf.m, 9 ft.lbf}.

Remove the liftgate latch.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the liftgate latch to striker surfaces after installation.
