Engine Disassembly/Assembly [L3]

2008 Mazda 6 s Sport, 4D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Engine Disassembly/Assembly [L3]

  1. Disconnect the engine and automatic transaxle. (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AW6A-EL] ).
  2. Disconnect the engine and manual transaxle. (MTX) (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [G35M-R] ).
  3. Remove the intake-air system. (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3] ).
  4. Remove the exhaust system. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3] ).
  5. Remove the generator. (See GENERATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3, AJ] ).
  6. Remove the ignition coils. (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3, AJ] ).
  7. Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. (See CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3] ).
  8. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
