Personal injury is possible. Foreign objects between side air bag module and seat components may be projected toward occupants during air bag deployment. Ensure side air bag module, air bag mounting surfaces, deployment chute and seat back pad are free of foreign objects.
Improper air bag deployment is possible. If air bag cover has separated or air bag material has been exposed, air bag may deploy improperly, resulting in personal injury. If air bag cover has separated or air bag material has been exposed, install new air bag module. Do not attempt to repair air bag module.

- To install, reverse removal procedure. If installing NEW air bag module, use NEW mounting nuts. If installing same air bag module, original nuts may be reused. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining deployable devices, verify air bag system. See VERIFY SYSTEMΒ under DIAGNOSTICS. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEMΒ under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Check AIR BAG warning light for proper system function. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECKΒ .
