Engine Disassembly/Assembly

2008 Mazda 6 s Sport, 4D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Engine Disassembly/Assembly

  1. Disconnect the engine and automatic transaxle (ATX). (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FN4A-EL] .)
  2. Disconnect the engine and manual transaxle (MTX). (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [A65M-R] .)
  3. Remove the intake-air system. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the exhaust system. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the generator. (See GENERATOR .)
  6. Remove the ignition coils. (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATIONΒ .)
  7. Remove the CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) sensor. (See CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR .)
  8. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
