Engine Disassembly/Assembly

2008 Mazda 6 s Sport, 4D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Engine Disassembly/Assembly

  1. Disconnect the engine and automatic transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Remove the drive plate. (See DRIVE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the intake-air system. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the exhaust system. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. Remove the thermostat case and water hose component.

  6. Remove the water bypass tube. (See WATER BYPASS TUBE REMOVAL NOTEΒ .)
  7. Remove the Ignition coils. (See IGNITION COIL PACK .)
  8. Remove the generator bracket.

  9. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
