- Remove the engine from the transmission:

(See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SJ6A-EL] ).
- Remove the following parts:
- The clutch unit (MT), (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- The drive plate (AT):
- The intake-air system, (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- The exhaust system, (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- The primary fuel injector and wiring harness (See FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove in the order indicated in Fig 1.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
