Engine Disassembly/Assembly

2008 Mazda 6 s Sport, 4D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Engine Disassembly/Assembly

  1. Remove the engine from the transmission:

  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. The clutch unit (MT), (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
    2. The drive plate (AT):

      (See DRIVE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SJ6A-EL] ).

    3. The intake-air system, (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
    4. The exhaust system, (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
    5. The primary fuel injector and wiring harness (See FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove in the order indicated in Fig 1.
  4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
