Front Lower Arm (Front) Ball Joint Removal Note: Notes

CAUTION:
  • Do not tap the steering knuckle with a hammer. The steering knuckle may be damaged.
  • If the steering knuckle is tapped with a hammer, the steering knuckle must be replaced with a new one.
  • If the steering knuckle bushing is raised during the ball joint disconnecting operation, remove the knuckle bushing and replace it with a new one.
  1. Insert a washer between the SSTΒ  and the nut to prevent damage to the locknut.
  2. Disconnect the ball joint using the SST.Β

  3. If the ball joint cannot be disconnected in Step Β 2, tap the SSTΒ  from the bottom using a copper hammer.
