Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the passenger-side air bag module. (See PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the A-pillar trim. (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the console. (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the lower panel.
Remove the instrument cluster. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the glove compartment. (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Remove the hood release lever.
Remove the control wire of the heater unit and blower unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL .) (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT INSTALLATION .)
Remove the installation bolts and nuts fixing the steering shaft to the dashboard, and pull down the steering shaft.
Remove in the order indicated in the table.

Install in the reverse order of removal.
