- Remove the liftgate lower trim. (See LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Disconnect the cargo compartment light switch connector.
- Inspect for continuity between the cargo compartment light switch terminals using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the liftgate lock.
