Shift-Lock Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
  2. Verify that the selector lever is in P position.
  3. Without the brake pedal depressed, verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted from P position.
  4. Depress the brake pedal and verify that the selector lever can be shifted from P position.
    • If not as specified, inspect the P position switch continuity and/or shift-lock relay, shift-lock solenoid continuity.
