Shift Cable

2008 Mazda 6 s Sport, 4D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Shift Cable

Move gearshift lever to Park position. Remove steering column covers. See Fig 1 . Loosen nut on gearshift lever cable. Pull gearshift lever rearward to Reverse position, to side gate of Park position. Tighten nut on gearshift lever cable to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  . Verify that the gearshift lever bolt end is exposed from the nut. See Fig 2 . Install steering column covers. See Fig 1 .
