- Remove the battery and the battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the air cleaner. (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ] .)
- Disconnect the selector cable and the selector cable bracket. (See SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (ATX)
- Position the harness bracket out of the way. (ATX)
- Remove in the order indicated in Fig 1 and Fig 2.
