Shift-Lock Release Lever Inspection

2008 Mazda 6 s Sport, 4D Hatchback, StandardSECTION Shift-Lock Release Lever Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Verify that the selector lever is in P position.
  3. Without the brake pedal depressed, verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted from P position.
  4. Remove the cover.
  5. Push down the shift-lock release lever using fingers.

  6. Verify that the selector lever can be shifted from P position.
    • If not as specified, inspect and repair as necessary.
