  1. Ensure battery is fully charged. Disconnect cooling fan motor connector. Connect ammeter between positive battery terminal and positive cooling fan motor connector. Ground negative cooling fan terminal. See appropriate wiring diagram under WIRING DIAGRAMS in ELECTRIC COOLING FANS article.
  2. Ensure cooling fan motor operates smoothly at specified current. See COOLING FAN MOTOR CURRENT SPECIFICATIONSΒ  table. If cooling fan motor draws more or less than specified amperage, check wiring. If wiring is okay, replace cooling fan motor.
