CAUTION:
- While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of contaminants or premature failure of the power steering components can result.
- Remove the power steering pump pulley. See
POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY - 2.3L AND 3.0LΒ
.NOTE:
- Do not allow power steering fluid to contact the accessory drive belt.
- Compress the clamp and disconnect the supply hose.
- Disconnect the power steering pressure line.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 65 N-m (6.6 kgf-m, 48 ft-lbf).
- Remove the power steering pump bolts and the power steering pump.
- To install, tighten to 23 N-m (2.3 kgf-m, 17 ft-lbf).
